Who’s the frontline healthcare hero in your life that you want to recognize?
From ambulance paramedics and emergency room doctors to registered nurses and intensive care unit staff, the skilled and brave professionals of the medical field have been on the forefront of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
To honor and give back to these dedicated healthcare professionals, Direct Travel is announcing a new airline ticket giveaway: “Flights for Heroes.”
“We are proud to recognize the tireless efforts of 100 healthcare heroes with air tickets for future use,” said Direct Travel’s Chief Financial Officer, John Coffman. “These tickets will hopefully provide them with an opportunity to see a loved one or take a much-needed break.”
The Flights for Heroes initiative will award 100 medical field workers with a pair of airline tickets valued at $1,000 ($500 per ticket) for travel in U.S. or Canada. Starting June 8, visitors to the contest portal on Direct Travel’s social media channels can nominate a healthcare worker who has made a positive impact during the pandemic. Entries will be voted on by other social media users, and the top 100 vote-getting nominees will be awarded with airline tickets.
The giveaway is a natural extension of Direct Travel’s mission statement, “Whatever It Takes to Get You There,” which reflects the team’s dedication to customer service and expertise at forging creative solutions.
“We know many industries are struggling right now, but the healthcare workers have really gone above and beyond,” said Direct Travel’s CEO, Ed Adams. “This is a small but important way we can come together and thank them for their work.”
Anyone can nominate a hero, but to qualify for the giveaway, nominees must be an active and accredited healthcare professional. The hashtag #FlightsForHeroes will be used to share updates and stories from the contest on social media.
Full terms and conditions will be posted at canada.dt.com/flightsforheroes once the contest is live on June 8. Winners will be announced to the public on July 13.
*Contest excludes residents of Quebec.
